Rethinking my Conference Attire

+ Posted by Josh Hallett on 04.02.05 // 10:53 AM

John Moore of Brand Autopsy has me rethinking my standard conference attire. Church of the Customer has a post detailing the 'buzz' John generated at the recent WOMMA Summit.

John stood out -- not only because he's about as tall as Dirk Nowitzki -- because he wore a doctor's smock. It was the real deal, replete with monogrammed stitching and a laminated doctor's badge.

His business cards? Toe tags.

Dr. John (sorry, I couldn't resist) says his ensemble sparked at least 25 individual conversations

I am quite proud that my recent career directions have allowed me to stay away from wearing ties and suits the majority of the time. Perhaps since many people think that 'hyku' refers to poetry (as in haiku) I should dress like a beat poet at conferences.

love the beat poet idea - that'd be comedy. something straight out of So I Married an Axe Murderer would be ideal ;)
