I no longer receive Entertainment Weekly magazine, but one feature they would have was the "Who would play" column. Every so often they would 'create' a movie based on current trends and ask, "what actors would play the major parts" Here is my stab at 'Blog' the movie. Like many big Hollywood productions we have some actors attached and a concept, but no script.
Of course the 'Blog' would be played by the original 'Blob' who has been out of work since 1958.

Major Cast

Philip Seymour Hoffman as Robert Scoble

Brian Cox as Doc Searls

Jonathan Katz as Steve Rubel, or Dr. Katz as Steve Rubel for the animated version. Wait a minute, do you think that's the Katz in Cooper Katz? :-)

Glenn Reynolds asked that a 'young' Harrison Ford play him, since he was a 'Professor' in the Indiana Jones trilogy

Rob Reiner as Dave Winer

James Cromwell as Jeff Jarvis

McCauley Culkin as Jason Calacanis

Wonkette won't do the picture unless she can play herself

Ricky Jay as Shel Holtz
Update: The following roles have been cast from reader comments

Kevin Spacey as Dan Gillmor

Tom Sizemore as Nick Denton

Hmm, Dr. Katz has too much hair. And no, no relation to Ralph Katz - the Katz in CooperKatz. How about Dr. Phil or Pierce Brosnan?

Dan Gillmor? That's easy: http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz/1281/Events/1281/KevinSpacey_Granitz_258294_400.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Spacey,%20Kevin

Hope Dan takes this right
Jeff Daniels (in his non-goofy roles) ?
But won't the blogosphere morph away from the script?
Nailing jello to the wall?
All in all, good fun!

Well I am just surprised that Disney is looking to recast the voice of Aslan for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe because they didn't think Brian Cox had the voice for it.
I'm thinking James Earl Jones.

Who will play ZuDfunck, the CrazyMacDUDE?
Oh I know
Jeff Bridges...The original DUDE!

Ha ha, classic stuff Josh! Can I have Russell Crowe playing me? I don't know that he'd be happy to play a "B-List" blogger though ;-)
Incidentally, where *are* all the B-Listers?

Where is Rebecca Blood (who would also, no doubt, play herself)?? The blog movie seems to have a lot of testosterone so far ...

This is great. I still contend that Gary Sinise should play Fred Wilson, but Fred doesn't buy it.

Kirsten Dunst as Wonkette is a no-brainer

Funny coincidence (but definitely a coincidence, I hasten to add, having --coincidentally-- just returned from watching "Secret Window"!), taht we both grabbed the Blob movie poster. Scroll down the home page for the URL above for "The Blob", the movie.

To correct the credits for Mr Blob. He was played one of the California Raisins in 1978.
