BusinessWeek asks, "When does the spamming start?" - How about, "When does it stop?"

BusinessWeek recently asked about when spam will start appearing in tags. It already is.

Here is a recent post about some searches I did on Technorati and Feedster that in some cases had 86% of the results on the first page being spam.

I'm just starting to learn about tags...so what is your final thought on this? Is it useful to tag posts on blogs?

I think for the blogger it is a great idea to tag your content. About half of my inbound links from Technorati are from tag searches. There is little down-side.

The issue is with the user on the other end. It will just get harder for them to weed thru the spam.

Thanks for your advice. I started using it this week, and have seen a lot of hits (well, I don't get that many in general, but you know what I mean!) coming from Technorati.
