Skelly Wright Says I am a Superficial Twit

Over at Arbitrary and Capricious, Skelly Wright says I am a self-satisfied superficial twit

Seems he took issue with my comment about a PD in a previous post.

To set the record straight. How did I arrive at my theory that the PD was inept? Let me see:

- Mismatched tie
- Wrinkled Suit
- General look of being dazed and confused
- Constantly returning to his desk to review his notes since he couldn't keep his train of thought (why not just bring your notes to the lectern?)
- Not being able to connect the dots logically

Some laywers have commented that certain questions cannot be asked because of procedural issues. Understood, but there has got to be a way to conduct yourself in court that doesn't make you look like you're in way over your head. It wasn't just me either. Many of the folks I talked to perceived the same thing and I think ultimately it hurt his client.

What's interesting is that this 'judge' is making this character judgement after reading a few lines of a blog post you wrote. Or I guess in legal terms without hearing all the evidence. I would expect a judge to be a bit more fair and balanced (hopefully Fox won't sue me for using that).

I know that the public defender you saw does not represent all public defenders, just as I hope that Judge Wright does not represent all judges. That is quick to judge based upon little input. Or perhaps I am naive.

i sat throuigh HOURS of nvoire dire on a case in my jurisdition and of curse was peremtprily dismissed-- but the defnse attopmrey! (litled did he know i was is lerfect jurir.)

he was a TOTAL jerk and i truly felt for his client. if i had been a bloggerf thgen i could posted some choice words... and i cant see any reason NOT to have.

i was not ON the jury-- i had been bumped. and maybe a few lawyers reading what I wrote might have learned something important-- DO NOT PISS OFF THE VENIREMEN!!! (This guy did, in 30 seconds flat.)

also, don't use stupid formulas to make your choices. USE YOUR BRAIN!!!

i was his perfect juror because my life expereince is that minorites do get picked on... so i was well aware his client might well have beeen innocent. and i am pretty clear on what the state's burden is and well capable of holding out if necessary.

best i could tell i got bumped because i said i had a law enforcement officer in my family. ( do-- he is a RETIRED Federal Marshal whom i have not seen in 49 years, and whom i never knew well!!!)

scary. but bloggable!!!
