It will be interesting to see what you find about the public transportation in your area. While at Auburn, I have actively used (read: lived on) our campus transit system, the Tiger Transit. It is a great way to get back and forth to campus and save gas money, as well as avoid dreaded parking wars.

As I look for a job after graduation, public transportation is one of the aspects I must evaluate. I have gotten used to not having to worry about parking on traffic. Being from a rural area and then living in the small city of Auburn, I am not used to dealing with heavy traffic and am not excited about dealing with rush hour or bad drivers.

It would be wonderful if Americans would embrace public transportation more. Even though I have a car, after I get off of work or out of class, it's nice to be able to read the paper on the way home, talk on the phone with a friend or just gaze out of the window.

Public transportation is fun sometimes. I've met students who have the same route as I do and the same schedule. We become "transit buddies" and it's just another friendly face on campus or to talk to on the ride home. The bus drivers on my route are great and enjoy talking with us, as well.

Have fun on all of your route changes...that might be too confusing for me, but I guess I'll find that out next year if I move to a city that offers public transportation!
