While visiting the University of Florida this past week I took a quick trip west to Chiefland, Florida to see an old friend. Just outside of Archer, FL was this incredibly green field. It reminded me of the Windows XP desktop. I stopped to take a few shots. The one on the top is my new desktop.

Josh,
Big fan of your blog. Was referred by a member of our former PR team (as of today) Steve Rubel. UF is my alma mater and a great part of the world. I am a bigger fan of the site now.

Have you seen the New Zealand version which adds sheep?
It's "semi official" as is available from Microsoft NZ.

Pretty sight isn't it? This is field #1 of 8 on Whistling Pines Ranch, just as it borders SW Archer Road. We plant it in ryegrass in October every year as a cover crop and for cattle grazing. In February and March the approximately 1200 acres of neon green ryegrass is tilled up in preparation for the yearly corn crop. By July, the corn almost black-green, standing 9 feet tall, and is its very best right along this particular photograph angle, near the highway. We are both humbled and flattered when the beauty of these open fields is noticed and celebrated like this. Warren Thomas, Whistling Pines Ranch, Archer, FL
