For those of you that want to ignore my earlier advice about how to pitch bloggers, I've created a quick and easy way to submit your pitch. Click on the button below and your pitch will be instantly sent to me. Why the button? Well during a panel at NewComm Fourm DL Byron mentioned that some PR people had asked him, "Where is the submit to this blog button?" Seeing this obvious need I created one.

Other bloggers, feel free to include this handy button on your site. It will make all of our lives much easier.

Nice. That'd make great conference schwag. Push my Pitch Button.

Neat idea, Josh. But I hope you know what you're getting into! By making a blog pitch just one clickthrough away, you're eliminating the requirement for PR types to study and grasp the blogger's true essence. This is a surefire recipe for misguided story queries (and a profile in Kevin and Richard's Bad Pitch blog).
Best,
Peter

I love it, too funny. Next time the pitch meme gets passed around, I am linking here. I'm adding it to del.icio.us as we speak.

I thought the mobhappy system from last year was a great idea. There's no guesswork involved and PR types like me have a good indication if well-crafted pitches are welcome or not. http://mobhappy.typepad.com/russell_buckleys_mobhappy/2005/07/pr_solutions.html

I dont agree with your approach. It takes away from the value of what we, as media relations experts do.
We just finished pitching a group of shoe and fashion bloggers. It was hard. It was time consuming. It was worth it. We found the right blogs and customized each pitch.
In a narrow and focused initiative like this, I think personalization is what makes this all work, and enables us to show our value to the paying client.

Alan: My approach is a joke.

Too funny Josh. I love where the pitch lands up ... I won't tell ... you gotta follow the clicks to find out!

Josh,
Love it! Now if you can write a script that has the Pitch button "avoid your mouse"... j/k
Anyway, thanks again.

Josh,
Funny or at least it appears that way at this time of night. Since its PR, maybe the button should keep moving on the screen.

This is GREAT! I run a luxury PR and Global Marketing firm. We are able to often send newsworthy (notice I did stress that) stories to the media often using submit news entries. The method you are suggesting will prevent those PR people who don't know from submitting news in your comment boxes or even doing stupid marketing pitches in them.
You ALWAYS go for it! I LOVE the idea!!
And I do respect all Bloggers! I have a love affair with the media and professional Bloggers find the gut of a story. Keep on doing good for the world please.
