NBC Killing the Golden Goose

Jackie Huba has a great review of how NBC killed off a very successful viral marketing campaign. I can attest to number 3 on her list. Yesterday I went to show some friends the Natalie Portman rap video, but we couldn't view it on my PowerBook. That was 4 viewers lost.

This is interesting and absurd. I haven't seen the video and now after reading that article, I would appreciate being able to see it. But since you said it didn't work on your Powerbook, I'm thorougly disappointed.
This decision to remove the video from websites like YouTube seems ridiculous to me. I wonder if there are some statistics about how much money they've made on iTunes so far with this decision. I'd be interested to know if they still agree with their decision or if now they realize how stupid the decision was. Josh, if you ever hear of a way to view that rap video on a mac let me know, I'd like to see it. Thanks.

Jonathan,
You can find a Quicktime version of the Natalie Portman video here:

Unless the NBC lawyers get to it first : )
