The Pet Shop Boys are performing in Orlando this evening. The Mrs. and I will be attending the concert at Hard Rock Live.

When I was younger I would make fun of people going to concerts of bands that were 'older'. Now I guess that's me :-)
Who would I go see in concert from the 'old' days? Well some of the bands are still producing material, but my list would be:
Bjork
The Cure
Depeche Mode
Electronic
Erasure
New Order
Nitzer Ebb
Pet Shop Boys
In each case I'd go to any local concert they put on. Nitzer Ebb is currently touring the US, but nowhere near Florida. Unfortunately I missed Erasure last year, they were in Orlando at the same time I was at Blog Nashville.
What older bands would make your 'must-see' list?

Neil Tennant is from where I'm from.
Thought I'd drop that in there...

I can see we are from different musical worlds. I'd go more with the '80s "alternative" or "college" genre -- REM, U2, Police.
Come to think of it, those are the last 3 big concerts I've been to (well, Sting in lieu of the Police). So maybe I'm in your "old" category now, too. :)

Sometimes what's old becomes new again. I remember when Santana was the hot new band. Over the years, many probably started seeing Carlos as an oldies act. But ever since "Supernatural," he has found a new audience and new relevance.
His show at Ford Amphitheater in Tampa three weeks ago presented the best of old and new Santana. With Los Lonely Boys as the opener, the audience represented all ages and all colors -- "like a rainbow," Carlos remarked.
Many people -- like the ones sitting behind me who had never heard of Los Lonely Boys -- probably came for the older songs. But I think even they had to see that Carlos and his band were able to put new energy into the old warhorses.

How were the Pet Shop Boys? My husband and I would have loved to see them. We live in Clearwater and couldn't make it over there. Even though they gained success in the 80's, their music from the last several years has been impressive.

I love concerts! Growing up in Auburn, we don't have a lot of concerts here so my family and I would travel to Atlanta or Birmingham to see concerts. I haven't been to that many, but I LOVE THEM! One of my favorite things to do I would have to say and my goal is to go to more.
Living in Orlando is great because many bands come there to play for such a large crowd. I would love to see U2, and Eric Clapton, and the Eagles. I got to see Bob Dylan in concert last year and that was pretty awesome also. I love jam bands like Allman Brothers and I would love to have seen The Band. I pretty much love music in general and I can listen to anything.
