I understand that businesses need to advertise/market themselves, but littering my neighborhood with signs (including one in my yard) is not the best way to win over customers. In fact, NY Pizza Baby just lost my business. I would normally rotate my pizza consumption around a few local stores, but NY Pizza Baby just got dropped from that list. Now I'll spend most my money at Pasquales or Dimagio's (both in Winter Haven) or Palace Pizza when I'm in Lakeland.

We've all seen these types of signs along the roadway. Typically they're advertising 'Cash for Houses' or some other fly-by-night operation. I guess that's what NY Pizza Baby wants to compare themselves to. Maybe that's why the owner is trying to sell it.
Update: The owner of NY Pizza Baby contacted me to say that the location that is for sale in Lake Wales is for a franchise only.

Is it even legal for them to put a sign in your yard? A for sale sign or something would be different, but to actually post a sign trying to get people to buy their pizza is kinda sketchy, eh?

Wow. That is pretty lame...in the imagination category alone. If they were going to copy off another campaign, why not this one from Papa Johns?

People just don't think things through. Would any normal person like someone to put an ad sign in their yard? No! So why would you do that to someone else?

Wow. Just wow. I am seriously angry over this. I blogged about this Josh and on your behalf I would gladly eat the brain of any employee at that pizza joint

That's pretty much the same way I feel about web spam.

It is illegal to put signs in people's yards, at least in California where I used to work for a real estate agent. If you put open house signs in people's yards they get supremely pissed. It's a great way to build bad feelings among your potential customers. I hope anyone thinking of buying that business will google the name and find this page and decide not to.

Why not return the sign to the store owner, slightly damaged of course so it can't be reused? Express your disapproval. Otherwise, they'll think no one objects.
These signs, usually placed in the right of ways, are illegal in my home town (Texas)

I am the owner of Ny Pizza Baby and I would like to set the record straight. Never were there to be any signs on lawns. My associates disregarded my instructions. Ny Pizza Baby in Lake Wales is for sale as a franchise only. Thank you and my apologies.
