I set up my 5-year-old son with my old 12" iBook today. While giving him a quick overview of the Mac he asked, "Does this have a DVD player in it?" I replied, "No, it doesn't". He seemed to lose interest at that point.

My 17 y/o daughter convinced me she needed her own laptop for the amount of homework she had to do. I didn't argue since she is an excellent student. She got a Macbook. The first night I found her cuddled up in bed with a cup of hot chocolate watching "Shakespeare in Love"... it seems things don't change much between 5 and 17...
