Ralph, one of the whale sharks at the Georgia Aquarium died yesterday.

We were just at the Georgia Aquarium a few weeks ago (photoset here) and saw Ralph and the rest of the whale sharks.

Josh,

That's so sad. My girlfriend and I were just there in December and we saw Ralph! The article says Gasper the beluga whale was euthanized recently. That's sad too. My friend who lives in Atlanta told me that when Gasper got sick, all of the local kids wrote get better notes.

This was so sad. Even tho' I'm scared of sharks, Ralph was just so cool. Watched the coverage today -- what a great shot of him.

Why do humans have to take animals out of the wild to make money? Just let them remain in their natural habitat so that they can live out their lives where they belong.

Humans are the curse of the planet.

Yes, BS, it was the scientifically-determined naturally balanced environment that killed him. A life with a guaranteed balanced and nutritious diet without the risk of natural predators and Taiwan spear fishermen should be condemned. We should probably outlaw adoption for humans while we're at it. Why should kids have a chance at a happy life with caring people when they could be left in their natural environment of a dangerous home, one with no parents, or those that are left in dumpsters?
