I would think companies want to minimize calls into thier call centers but maybe this is a sales tactic to drive calls to the sales team?

It's confusing, no doubt. I think it's a bit of a "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS" kind of thing.
Wonder if they really make more money by keeping us guessing how much things cost.
